Training Tips and Lifestyle Hacks
Until I start my 16 week Marathon specific block of training at the start of February I thought I would share some useful & basic tips I currently use in my own training, on a day to day basis. I hope they help and I will expand on some of them in greater detail in future posts.
1. Always warm up
2. Always cool down & stretch
3. Foam roll daily
4. Carry a bottle of water around with you all day, and drink from it!
5. Track your caloric & macronutrient intake
(I use My fitness pal)
6. Be active when you are not training (dog walks, etc)
7. Get your training kit ready the night before
8. Train consistently
9. Follow structure in your training
10. Set goals
11. Surround yourself with positive people
12. Strength Train & Perform Core work
13. Choose foods that are ingredients, not full of ingredients
14. Listen to your body and rest when you need to
15. Record and analyse your data, interpret the data correctly and act upon it in future training sessions

Below are some phrases and quotes I often look at to help myself stay motivated. I hope some of these help for you too!
1. Mind over matter.
2. Comfort, the enemy of progress.
3. Don’t decrease the goal, increase the effort.
4. Set a goal so big you can’t achieve it, until you grow into the person who can.
